Global Business Development Manager
Senior global BDM role driving enterprise growth across Leaseweb’s IaaS solutions
Why This Role Exists
Leaseweb is a global hybrid cloud and IaaS provider delivering infrastructure solutions across bare metal, private cloud, public-cloud connectivity, networking, and edge services. Enterprises worldwide are rethinking their infrastructure strategy - driven by AI workloads, hybrid cloud adoption, regulatory pressure, data-residency and digital sovereignty requirements, and the search for credible alternatives to hyperscalers.
To capture this opportunity, Leaseweb is hiring a Global Business Development Manager. We are looking for an experienced international BDM, focused on global new-logo acquisition and complex, multi-region IaaS deal pursuit within targeted vertical market segments. In this role, you will be responsible for building a vertical go-to-market strategy from scratch, as well as building and owning the global new-business pipeline end-to-end within these market segments. Working alongside regional sales teams and under the direction of global business development leadership, you will define the vertical playbook, identify and engage target accounts, and convert demand into recurring infrastructure revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
As Global Business Development Manager, you will shape and execute Leaseweb's global go-to-market strategy with relentless commercial focus. You operate at the intersection of deep IaaS / infrastructure expertise, enterprise customer insight, and hands-on hunting execution. This is a senior individual contributor role with global scope and uncompromising new-business accountability.
Global GTM Execution:
•Drive execution of Leaseweb's global go-to-market strategy across enterprise customer segments and priority markets.
•Translate enterprise infrastructure requirements (availability, latency, security, compliance, data residency) into compelling IaaS value propositions.
•Identify priority target accounts and high-potential regions in collaboration with regional sales teams.
•Position Leaseweb as a preferred IaaS partner for mission-critical workloads in close cooperation with Product and Marketing.
New-Logo Acquisition
•Own the full hunting cycle: prospect, qualify, engage, negotiate and close global new-logo opportunities.
•Build and maintain executive relationships with commercial, technical and operational decision makers (CIO, CTO, Head of Infrastructure, Head of Platform).
•Lead complex, multi-region IaaS deal pursuits for mission-critical enterprise workloads.
•Act as the global point of coordination for strategic opportunities, orchestrating Pre-Sales, Product and Legal across regions.
Pipeline Build & Forecasting Discipline
•Build, manage and forecast a qualified global new-business pipeline with rigorous CRM hygiene.
•Drive predictable conversion through structured deal qualification.
•Replicate winning sales plays across regions; turn lighthouse customer wins into repeatable global motions.
Partner & Ecosystem Leverage
•Activate strategic partners (system integrators, ISVs, technology vendors, channel) to accelerate deal execution.
•Contribute to joint value propositions and co-selling initiatives that expand Leaseweb's reach across the enterprise infrastructure ecosystem.
Thought Leadership & Market Feedback
•Represent Leaseweb at industry events, conferences and forums as a credible infrastructure thought leader.
•Provide structured market, customer and competitive feedback to Product and Marketing to influence roadmap and positioning.
What We're Looking For:
10+ years of enterprise business development or strategic sales experience, with a clear and demonstrable track record as a global BDM / new-logo closer in complex B2B environments.
Proven IaaS / infrastructure background – sufficient understanding of bare metal, hybrid and private cloud, colocation, networking, DDoS protection and edge - including how these map to mission-critical enterprise workloads.
Demonstrated success closing large, complex, multi-region infrastructure deals with senior commercial and technical buyers.
Strong global BDM background: experience operating across multiple regions and cultures
(EMEA, North America, APAC, LATAM) with the cultural fluency to navigate them effectively.
Track record of building qualified global pipelines from scratch and converting them into closed-won recurring revenue.
Established executive network across one or more infrastructure-intensive enterprise segments.
Familiarity with European digital sovereignty, data-residency and compliance dynamics shaping enterprise infrastructure decisions.
Experience working alongside or selling against hyperscalers in hybrid infrastructure scenarios.
Comfortable with structured sales methodologies (CHAMP).
High ownership, resilience and the ability to operate autonomously in a global context.
Persuasive executive presence
Entrepreneurial, results-driven and execution-focused.
Education & Languages
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Technology or a related discipline.
Fluent English (required); additional languages are a strong plus given the global scope.
Travel
Willingness to travel internationally up to 40–50% for customer meetings, partner activities and industry events.
Benefits Include:
Participation in annual company bonus scheme and company pension
Lease car policy
Internet allowance
Working from home policy
Work from abroad: Up to 4 weeks per year, following policy guidelines
Participation in Sales Incentive Plan
Lease bike plan
25 days of paid time off (and theoption to buy or sell up to 5 more days)
Free lunch, parking, and fresh fruit provided when in the office
Access to the Leaseweb Academy, a personalized learning platform offering a variety of studies, (Dutch) courses, and trainings
Attractive relocation packages and an agency that takes care of the entire visa process
Fun events year-round – from virtual pub quizzes to summer parties, company runs, quarterly hackathons and much more
A multicultural work environment (our colleagues are from over 60 countries!) in a company where you can truly make a difference
